Dear Professor Ravanshadnia,
How are you doing?
I have recently become a PhD candidate at the Ohio State University and about to update my resume. I have your name and contact info as one of my references.
By the way, I have been in contact with Hossein over emails. He is going to write me his questions. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help you and your students.
Students who are interested in artificial intelligence (AI) usually focus on old version of AI, such as feed forward backpropagation. These tools were widely used in construction area. It is recommended that students move towards cutting-edge technologies.

It is recommended that students move towards cutting-edge technologies. A number of recent machine learning or classification algorithms are:
- · Fuzzy neural network algorithms (Boutalis et al., 2013; Hsu, 2013; Rigatos, 2013; Zhang and Ge, 2013; Vlahogianni, and Karlaftis, 2013; Kwon et al., 2014)
- · Wavelet neural network (Kodogiannis et al., 2013)
- · Swarm intelligence (Shafahi and Bagherian, 2013; Forcael et al., 2014; Zeng et al., 2014; Wu et al., 2014)
- · Spiking neural networks (Friedrich et al., 2014; Rossello et al., 2014; Zhang et al., 2014; Shapero et al., 2014)
- · Enhanced probabilistic neural networks (Ahmadlou and Adeli 2010)
- · Deep belief restricted Boltzmann machine (Hinton et al., 2006 and Hinton 2007;https://www.cs.toronto.edu/~hinton/)
One thing that increases the students’ understanding of course materials or such learning machines is that professors and advisors ask them to develop such programs and codes in usual programming software such as MATLAB or C++ (instead of just using toolboxes). It is essential for graduate students to know MATLAB.

Thank you for all you have done for me!
